How it works: The controls are the same as in the original Fender 6G15 DWELL the amount of effect MIXER the balance between dry and wet signals TONE how bright or dark the sound is DIMENSIONS Approximately 44 x 17 x 8cm VOLUME the level of the output signal THE SURFYBEAR PROJECT The original electronic part that started it all! A controller identical to the Fender 6G15 reverb unit, replacing the vacuum tubes with JFET transistor technology. This is not a digital effect. Spring reverb technology has been around for over 50 years. One of the first reverb units available for electric guitar was the Fender 6G15 standalone reverb, which became the standard for generations of musicians. The distinctive sound of spring reverb devices remains extremely popular among guitarists today. THE CONCEPT Basically, the tubes in the schematic are replaced with JFETS/MOSFETs and the output transformer with a current source. The circuit is all Class A and it is optimised for a tube-like harmonic content.
