The best way to book a repair is to bring your instrument in store so we can diagnose any issues and discuss what you’d like from the service. From there we can schedule the service, or take it in right away, notifying you once the service has been carried out. Costs
Given the variable nature of work carried out by our technicians it can be challenging to provide an accurate estimate on anything more than a restring or basic set-up. In the case that your instrument requires something more comprehensive we recommend bringing your instrument in store to one of our locations.
If you do give us a ring be sure to give us as much info as you can over the phone. All labour for work will be charged at our standard $98/hr for repair work. Note also that any strings, pickups or additional parts needed to carry out a repair will incur additional cost. Our technicians will always contact you before carrying out any further work we may identify as necessary.

Freshen up, with a fret polish, fretboard oil and some minor adjustments. Not to forget the restring and tune. Additional cost for classical guitars, 7+ strings, 5+ string basses and instruments with locking trem. |
Standard — From $199 +strings |
A thorough combing over and inspection, complete with a report from our service technician. A complete setup in almost every sense, from string height, truss rod and intonation adjustments through nut filing, fret polishing and hydration, to electronic servicing and cleaning. Plus, no additional cost for locking trems! |
The Everything — From $399 +strings |
A service for your sweetheart. Perhaps you’re rebuilding or restoring your old workhorse, or you’ve found a bargain on the web in dire need of some TLC. We’ll tear the instrument down and build it back up to its former glory, with a full body buff and polish, hardware stripping and cleaning, faulty part replacement and a full set-up, complete with a full report from our service technician. Note: cost of parts and strings is not included. |
Pickup Replacement — From $60 per pickup +pickups |
Perhaps you’re looking to upgrade your first guitar, or mod your favourite guitar to the absolute teeth. Switching out the pickups is a sure way of achieving something different and a sound more your own. Note: Pricing is just a guide and will depend on the custom requirements for routing or wiring. |
Diagnosis — From $49 |
Somethings gone awry, and well… you’re not sure what. No fear! We’re here! $49 gives our technicians time to go over your instrument to find the source of the issue, and fix it then and there, or provide a quote if it’s a slightly bigger job to tackle. |

We aim to turn repairs around as quickly as possible, but timing can change based on in-store demand and workshop bookings.
- On-the-spot adjustments / quick fixes: When the store isn’t busy, we can often help straight away.
- Restrings: 1 day to 1 week depending on how busy we are.
- Setups: 1 day to 1 week depending on how busy we are.
If you’re working to a deadline (gig, lesson, recording), we recommend checking in with a sales representative first, we’ll confirm what’s achievable and book you in accordingly.

Our drum departments offer servicing, repair and restoration for your drum kits, snares and percussion instruments. Darren and his team will re-skin and tune your drums to produce sound you might not have thought they were capable of!
