The iconic WAVESTATION from KORG introduced the world to Wave Sequencing, transforming raw samples into sounds never heard before. This was pushed even further with the release of the flagship OASYS and KRONOS keyboards, expanding on the unique palette of rich, morphing pads, and driving rhythms. Released in 2020, the coveted KORG wavestate took Wave Sequencing technology to new heights. Employing the powerfully re-designed Wave Sequencing 2.0, wavestate offers incredible evolving sounds with comprehensive tactile control. So much more than a nostalgic reissue, wavestate was designed from the ground up to inspire a new generation of musicians, producers, and composers, drawing inspiration from diverse sources like modular synths, groove boxes, and algorithmic composition. Now, KORG are proud to introduce the all-new wavestate mkII - featuring a fresh look and improved polyphony, this powerful synth is compatible with sounds and samples for both the original wavestate, wavestate SE, and wavestate native software, along with a host of outstanding third-party libraries. Kept fresh with updated sounds and software, wavestate boasts a compact form-factor and 37 full-size keys for effortless transportation, and an instrument that fits into any stage, studio, or desktop setup. Features Wave Sequencing 2.0 Extensive modulation with hands-on control Gigabytes of samples - and import up to 4GB of your own Modeled filters, including MS-20 and Polysix 96 stereo voices 4 Layers with Vector control 14 simultaneous effects Set Lists and Smooth Sound Transitions Randomization Free Editor/Librarian and Sample Builder software for Mac and Windows Compact. Great design. 37 full-size keys Designed by KORG R&D in California Wave Sequencing 2.0 The original WAVESTATION gave each step of a wave sequence a duration, a sample, and a pitch to create catchy repetitive patterns, and birthing an entirely new method of sound design. But what if, instead of just repeating, the sounds could morph and evolve in natural and surprising ways? Wave Sequencing 2.0 separates the timing, the sequence of samples, and the melody, allowing each one to be independently manipulated. It also adds new characteristics, like shapes, gate times, and step sequencer values. Each of these is a Lane, and each lane can have a different number of steps, as well as it's own dedicated start, end, and loop points. Each time the sequence moves forward, the individual Lanes combine together to create the output. For example, a sample may be matched with a different duration, pitch, shape, gate length, and step sequence value every time it plays. You can separately modulate the start, end, and loop points for every note of each Lane using velocity, LFOs, envelopes, Mod Knobs, or other controllers. Each note in a chord can even be playing something completely different! With realtime control over the range of included steps, Lanes can also randomize the step order each time they play back. Finally, you can randomly skip individual steps with a modulatable probability from 0 to 100%, resulting in an organic, ever-evolving textures that react to your control. The four integrated arpeggiators can interact with Wave Sequences for even more sonic potential. 4GB of User Samples Import up to 4GB of your own Multisamples into wavestate via the free Sample Builder application for Mac and Windows, and express yourself to the fullest potential. With many available third-party libraries, the possibilities are expanded even further. Just like the factory Multisamples, you can use your new samples in Wave Sequences, or as single Multisamples. Multiply by Four Oozing with synthesis power, wavestate allows you to create lush and sophisticated results by layering up to four Programs together in a Performance, with each having their own effects and arpeggiator. Mix the individual voices of the four Layers using the Vector Envelope and Joystick, and modulate any other parameters. Easily Expressive. Exceptionally Deep. Loaded with knobs and control surfaces, wavestate encourages sonic exploration. Traditional controls like filters, envelopes, LFOs, and effects are right at your fingertips with the dedicated front-panel controls. Eight fully customizable and programmable Mod Knobs get the most out of every sound, allowing you to take them in uncharted directions. Use the knobs in real time to manipulate your performance, and save the results as new sounds - and when you add in the Pitch Bend and Modulation Wheels, along with the unique Vector Joystick, you have multiple avenues of realtime expression. If you want to go deeper, almost every front-panel control, and most on-screen parameters can be modulated, and you can even modulate settings for individual Wave Sequence steps. Mod Processors allow you to morph modulation signals using quantization, smoothing, curvature, and more. Randomization that Inspires If more inspiration is what you crave, a dedicated dice button on the front panel generates new sounds via intelligent randomization. Randomize the whole sound, or just aspects of it, like the filter, the Sample Lane, or the effects. Keep the results you find, or use them as a starting point to create your own unique sounds and textures. Gigabytes of Samples. 96 Stereo Voices. The wavestate's sample library is over a thousand times bigger than it's predecessor. Featuring a bank of samples from Plugin Guru, all-new samples from KORG, and a selection from the NAUTILUS, KRONUS, and KROME collections. KORG provides all of the WAVESTATION's samples, as well as all options, and a massive collection of WAVESTATION Wave Sequences. Play up to 96 stereo voices with unparalleled detail and articulation with KORG's exclusive anti-aliasing sample playback technology. An Arsenal of Effects. The studio-grade effects included in wavestate gives you access to production-ready sounds. Each layer contains three dedicated effects, and in addition, the performance features a master reverb and parametric EQ. Not only does wavestate SE give you traditional effects like compressors, EQ, choruses, flangers, phasers, and stereo delays, you get access to exclusive processors like the Wave Shaper, Talking Modulator, Reverse Delay, Multiband Mod Delay, and Overb, as well as modeled effects like VOX guitar amplifiers, wah, multi-head tape echo, and a selection of classic guitar stompboxes. Set Lists and Smooth Sound Transitions Effortlessly organize your wavestate Performances, and gain instant access to them during performances using Set Lists. Previously-played voices and effects decay naturally as you select a new sound thanks to Smooth Sound Transitions. Plays Well with Others. With balanced stereo outputs, you can connect wavestate to any recording or monitoring system, and the stereo headphone output allows for silent rehearsal or on-stage cueing. The wavestate SE also supports MIDI compatibility and class-compliant USB MIDI connections to Windows and Mac computers. Free Bundle of Music Software Take your creations to new heights with wavestate's diverse collection of music software, including Izotope's Ozone Elements for powerful AI mastering, Skoove for honing your keyboard skills, and software synths from KORG and other manufacturers.
