Today, Jackson Audio and Silvertone make history again with the introduction of the 1484 Twin Twelve pedal. The 1484 Twin Twelve pedal is an exact replica of the legendary Twin Twelve amplifier and can be used as a studio-quality preamp, booster, EQ, or overdrive depending on the control settings. The 1484 Twin Twelve Pedal is a part-for-part replica of the Silvertone Twin Twelve amplifier. The 1484 Twin Twelve pedal is not inspired by or modeled after the original, but takes the exact circuitry of the legendary amplifier and replaces all of the vacuum tubes with JFETs. JFETs are a unique type of transistor that behaves very similarly to a vacuum tube. These inherent characteristics of the JFET give the 1484 Twin Twelve pedal the same touch sensitivity and dynamic response as the original amplifier. To get every bit of power and tone out of the JFET, we built a robust power supply with an internal 9V to 18V voltage doubling circuit. This significantly improves the dynamic response and touch sensitivity of the JFET compared to 9V pedals. Each of these pedals is handcrafted from the highest quality components, including polished stainless steel housings, just like the chassis of the original amplifiers. As perhaps the most iconic visual element of the Silvertone 1484 amplifier, the knobs, are no longer manufactured, we custom made them to recreate the classic look in a size that matches the dimensions of the pedal. No detail was spared in restoring this legendary circuit to its original form. To provide the functionality needed for players of this era, it features a true bypass footswitch with a soft click, maintains bypass tone, and provides a big bang when switching from the past.
