Polyphia is a primarily instrumental progressive rock band from Plano, Texas. By interweaving technical, virtuosic guitar instrumentations with production and grooves influenced by hip-hop, jazz, and R&B, Polyphia has created a truly unique and original sound. Ibanez has worked closely with Tim Henson, one half of the dynamic guitar duo Polyphia, for many years, to jointly develop the signature model TOD. This guitar is heavily inspired by the Ibanez AZ model and also features some of Tim's personal touches that fit perfectly with his versatile playing style. Perhaps the most striking aesthetic feature of the TOD is the fingerboard inlay design that Tim calls Tree of Death. Both the name and design are reminiscent of Ibanez's iconic Tree of Life inlay design, but with a twist. Special Features Modified FR hollow body with Fan bracing Its thin, compact body and superior high fret access contribute to the superb playability of this guitar. It has less feedback as there’s no sound hole on the body top. Fan bracing, which is commonly used for classical guitars, allows this guitar to have a warm and natural nylon string sound. Side Sound Port (TOD) The sound port on the body side allows you to feel and hear the pure acoustic tone of this guitar more clearly and directly. 46mm width nut / 400R fretboard radius The combination of a narrow 46mm width nut and 400R fretboard radius offers easy fingering. ''Tree of Death'' fingerboard Inlay The name and the design of this fingerboard inlay are both nods to the iconic Ibanez “Tree of Life” inlay design, but with a twist Features Oval C Roasted Maple neck The Roasted Maple neck is heat-treated to increase stability, durability, moisture resistance and tolerance of temperature changes.
