PURE MAPLE® Wood Shells Maple is the most popular wood for drum making, a hardwood that produces maximum resonance, spread, and attack. When combined with an amplification hoop, it can produce a more focused sound, perfect for live or studio applications. Specialized Shell Configuration (SSC) DW layers plies cut to different grain directions: horizontal, vertical, and diagonal (X-shell) to lower the fundamental pitch of the shell, maximize resonance, and create a complete instrument. Gloss Black FinishPly™ The innovative wrap finish adheres to the shell and acts like a layer while improving beauty and durability. American-made custom drums.
