The Roland SDE-3000 was unveiled in 1983 at the dawn of the digital effects era, and is still a revered legend among fans of classic gear today. With an inherently musical character, long delay times and it's ability to save and recall presets, this rackmount icon became the favourite delay unit for the world's greatest touring guitarists, session musicians, and engineers of the era - a unique sound that is still adored forty years later. Providing not one, but two faithful replications of the revered SDE-3000 in a single, floor-based pedal unit, the SDE-3000D features fully independent delays, versatile internal routing and expanded I/O for modern flexibility to suit any type of mono or stereo rig. Also featuring enhanced modulation and tone-shaping abilities, there are 100 memories for saving your favorite setups. Finally, with a bevy of integrated and external control options, this vintage voice can be seamlessly integrated with any stage or studio rig. Standard Features Faithful floor-based reproduction of the legendary Roland SDE-3000 rackmount digital delay from the 1980s Classic warm digital delay sound with extended features for modern rigs Distinctive retro display and panel controls based on the original SDE-3000 Includes two full-featured delays, each with independent parameters, mono/stereo modulation, and panning Widely adjustable delay time with two range settings: 0–1500 ms and 0–3000 ms Characterful modulation inspired by the original circuit design Phase switches for the primary delay and delay feedback loop Adjustable low-cut and high-cut filters for shaping delay feedback sounds Two inputs and two outputs for dual mono, wet/dry, or stereo setups Selectable series or parallel operation for the two delays Save and recall sounds with 100 memories Assignable onboard footswitch control for tap tempo, hold, and more Jacks for extended operation with up to four footswitches, two expression pedals, or the GA-FC/GA-FC EX foot controller MIDI I/O on space-saving mini TRS jacks Retro Digital Magic The SDE-3000 carries the magic flair of certain classic effects that make any sound better, many of it's characteristics make it highly responsive with live instruments, such as a vast dynamic range, adjustable delay phase, lush modulation and multiple seconds of pristine and warm delay sounds. Becoming an important element of music in the '80s and '90s, the SDE-3000's voice continues to inspire tone chasers and effect builders the world over. With the SDE-3000D, you have access to the authentic delay sounds used to create some of the most legendary songs of all time. Masterful Modulation The SDE-3000's modulation circuit further contributes to it's unique voice - along with basic depth and rate parameters, users can individually switch the phase of the initial delay and the feedback loop, influencing the manner in which the modulation responds. The original LFO behavior has been recreated faithfully in the SDE-3000D, along with a sine wave option in addition to the original triangle wave. Vintage Delay Reborn In the 1980's, the SDE-3000's beautiful warm sound and inspiring musicality helped it stand apart from the pack, where other digital delays of the era were cleaner and more precise. This was because of intelligent and sophisticated internal digital processing in combination with nonlinear behaviors from the analog circuitry, such as a variable frequency response in the preamp dependent on the input gain, magnetic saturation in the anti-alias filter, and evolving modulation that was a natural consequence of the components used at the time. These factors where all thoroughly analyzed by BOSS in the creation of the SDE-3000EVH - bringing the vibe and character of a vintage classic into the modern age. Authentic Details, Modern Enhancements The SDE-3000D's retro interface was derived from the vintage hardware, and includes almost every parameter from the original SDE-3000. Two selectable delay ranges provide different frequency characteristics like the original, and the unique modulation circuit has been replicated as well. You can independently switch the phase of the initial delay and the delay feedback loop, influencing the way the modulation responds, along with depth and rate controls. Other advanced appointments include 92 user-definable presets, spillover and more. Two SDE-3000s in One Pedal Providing two discrete delays with individual parameters and mono or stereo modulation on each, the SDE-3000D allows users to run delays in parallel and pan them for ever-changing stereo textures, or chain them in series for complex rhythms and depth that boarders on reverb. The expanded I/O enables a range of mono and stereo configurations. Modern Compact Power The SDE-3000D offers far greater versatility than it's vintage rackmount forefather with it's pedal based design and expanded controls. Gain instant control of the pedal memory using the three integrated footswitches, as well as tap tempo, delay hold, momentary effect engagement, and more. Connect up to four footswitches, or two expression pedals to externally operate the unit, or connect to the TRS MIDI jacks for MIDI control. A large range of assignable targets deliver an in-depth, real-time control that goes far beyond the capabilities of the original SDE-3000.
