Stereo microphone setups have been a favourite in recording studios to capture the instrument's organic tone, as well as the room's natural ambience. Experienced audio engineers will use a host of time-honoured mic techniques to carefully position microphones to capture the perfect balance for a song or playing style. Because of feedback and other noise issues inherent with live performance, instrument microphones aren't logical for most situations. AC-22LX's Air Feel Technology eliminates the need for microphones, as well as the drawbacks that come with it, bringing authentic replications of iconic studio microphone setups to acoustic amplification for the very first time. Multi-Dimensional Tone with Air Feel Combining advanced processing technologies with BOSS' meticulous sound research, Air Feel morphs the tone of your pickup with incredible depth and dimension- a feat not possible, until now. Simply plug in and enjoy the natural character and response of your instrument at performance volumes, without needing external microphones or audio engineering chops. Air Feel Types: Dry - Unprocessed tone that amplifies the natural direct pickup sound. XY - Recreates a coincident pair technique that utilizes two mics positioned in an XY pattern. This focused stereo sound provides a great balance between the strings and body resonance, making it perfect for rhythmic chord strumming and muted passages. AB - Recreates a spaced-pair mic technique for incredible stereo width and naturally expanded acoustic resonance. Big and full, this mode is perfect for solo guitar and fingerpicking styles. ORTF - This special stereo mic technique combines elements of the XY and space-pair approaches. It offers a focused tone with greater depth and body resonance. Mid-Side - A classic technique that produces a well-defined sound with huge stereo width. It adds a sense of space, providing a nice ensemble blend with vocals and other instruments. Powerful Sound-Shaping Tools To compliment the five Air Feel settings, the AC-22LX's Guitar/Instrument channel is equipped with a three-band EQ, as well as reverb and combined reverb/chorus effects to add even more depth, dimension and space to your playing. With switchable phantom power, the XLR Mic channel is suitable for use with condenser microphones, and thanks to a 2-band EQ and dedicated reverb, you can process this channel independently to find the perfect balance. Save and recall setups for different songs or instruments with 15 integrated memories, and with the AC-22LX Editor, you get even finer control- with the ability to change out reverb algorithms, access in-depth effect parameters, and so much more. Built-In Rhythms Featuring an integrated Rhythm Box, the AC-22LX is the ultimate companion to add life and vibe to practice sessions and enhance live performances. With five instrument types - like percussion and full drum set sounds - all featuring BOSS spatial technology, you're able to fill performance spaces with infectious rhythmic energy. Select from 15 different patters, and then set up the perfect beat with the tap tempo button. If you can't find what you want on-board, customize your own patter with 119 variations in the AC-22LX Editor. Perform, Record, and Stream Effortlessly send the AC-22LX's sound output directly to a PA system, audio interface, recorder, or streaming application, complete with Air Feel processing and spatial rhythm tones thanks to flexible analog and USB connectivity. From small bars, to arena stages, perform with incredible tone in any venue. Record natural-sounding performances in your favourite DAW without the need for external microphones. Even livestream performances directly to your social media profiles. Capable of supporting mono or stereo operation, the AC-22LX's USB connection offers a convenient Loopback function for monitoring playback from a computer.
