Description

The Behringer MDX2600 is the ultimate dual-channel multi-tool for your live sound and studio recording needs. Offering an Expander, Gate, Compressor, and Peak Limiter, the MDX2600 is perfect for compressing mono/stereo signals, providing ultra-transparent noise suppression without compromising the high-end of a signal, increasing the presence and energy of a vocal performance, and smoothing out extreme signal peaks via limiting. MDX2600 also features an integrated Dynamic Enhancer, De-Esser, Low-Contour filter, and Behringer's cutting-edge switchable Tube Simulation - which imparts the warmth and harmonics of classic tube circuitry. Simply put, the MDX2600 offers polish and shine for your vocals and instruments - giving you all the essential tools for world-class dynamics processing - whether in stage, or in studio!

Features

  • Switchable IKA (Interactive Knee Adaptation) program-adaptive compression circuitry combines the advantages of hard-knee and soft-knee characteristics
  • Integrated De-esser with switchable male/female voice recognition removes excessive sibilance from your vocal tracks
  • IGC (Interactive Gain Control) peak limiting circuitry combines clipper and program limiter for reliable and inaudible protection against signal peaks
  • Switchable dynamic Enhancer for brilliant, lively audio even with heavy compression
  • IRC (Interactive Ratio Control) expander/gate circuitry for virtually inaudible noise suppression
  • Switchable Tube simulation for the extra warmth and transparency of classic tube circuitry
  • Automatically or manually adjustable attack and release times
  • Switchable Low contour filter prevents "pumping" due to low-frequency dominated compression
  • Stereo couple function with independent output level settings
  • Switchable side chain input with monitor function
  • Separate 12-segment LED meters for input/output levels and gain reduction
  • Dedicated "traffic light" Threshold and De-esser level displays
  • Servo-balanced inputs and outputs with ¼" TRS and gold-plated XLR connectors
  • Relay-controlled hard bypass switch with auto bypass function in case of power failure
  • Internal switch-mode power supply (100 - 240 V~) for noise-free audio and low power consumption

Audio Dynamics Toolkit

MDX2600 offers a plethora of incredible capabilities:
  • Switchable IKA (Interactive Knee Adaptation) - combines all the advantages of both hard and soft-knee compression to offer program-adaptive compression.
  • IGC (Interactive Gain Control) - combines clipper and program limiter for reliable, transparent protection against signal peaks.
  • Enhancer - emphasizes the Bass, Mid-range and High-end output at selectable frequencies for maximum punch, clarity and detail without raising overall volume
  • Tube Simulation - delivers the additional warmth and transparency of classic tube circuitry, imparting signals with rich harmonic content.
  • De-Esser - a live sound and studio essential with switchable male/female voice recognition for reducing sibilance, while preserving natural voice timbre. Often used to enhance upper-mid, to high-frequency smoothness in vocals, drum overheads, strings, etc.
  • Side Chain - allows you to insert a graphic/parametric EQ to reduce specific frequencies for tightening up tracks using an internal or external signal to trigger compression, or gating of signal being processed (ex. using bass guitar signal to un-gate kick drum)
  • Stereo Couple - links both channels, allowing Channel 1 dials and switches to provide dynamics control over both channels (true stereo processing)

Revolutionary Tube Simulation

The world-class sound quality of the MDX2600 is thanks to Behringer's groundbreaking Tube Modeling processor, which imparts signals with the very essence of tube harmonics and compression. This outstanding circuitry emulates the performance characteristics of some of the world's most iconic tube compressors, delivering a sound rich in harmonic content.

Options Abound

MDX2600 boasts astonishingly accurate 12-segment LED meters for monitoring In/Out and Gain Reduction levels, with switchable +4dBu/-10dBu operation, Side Chain I/O, and servo-balanced XLR and ¼" Inputs and Outputs. Incredibly powerful, and loaded with features, the MDX2600 only takes up a single rackspace.
