Description

The 33mm fixed charge capsule is housed in a precision machined aluminum housing and features a gold-sputtered diaphragm for a wide natural frequency response. With its gentle cardioid polar pattern, the A131 faithfully captures performance details while suppressing ambient and other unwanted off-axis noise. Double-woven steel grille and ultra-thin acoustic foam provide superior pop strength for podcasting and singing. The open-air design of the capsule mounting system behind the grille ensures that the A131 delivers transparent and pristine sound. Proprietary impedance control between the capsule and circuitry ensures consistent and reliable performance in a wide range of environments. A unique and highly effective internal shock mount isolates the capsule from mechanical vibration and handling noise, eliminating the need for bulky external shock mounts. The A131 delivers studio performance in a travel-ready package and also includes a protective zippered carrying case. Requires 48-52V phantom power. For best results, the A131 should be used with a high-quality microphone preamp and microphone cable. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE The A131 is a low impedance microphone and should be plugged into a “mic level” input on your console, mixer, or recording device. The A131 requires phantom power and will NOT operate without phantom power voltage (48 Volts recommended) which is available on most professional mic preamps and mixing devices. If phantom power is not available on your equipment, use a phantom power supply such as the Audix APS2. Avoid plugging or unplugging the microphone from a PA system unless the channel is muted, or the volume of the system is turned down. Failure to do so may result in a loud “popping” noise which could seriously damage the speakers in the PA system or studio monitors. The A131 is manufactured to exacting specs with road worthy construction. However, the capsule is highly sensitive and should be handled with care. Avoid extreme temperatures and be sure to store your microphone in the case provided when not in use. Moisture of any kind can adversely affect the sound and performance of your microphone.
