Yamaha FP9500D Direct Drive Single Bass Drum Pedal

The direct drive pushes the footboard back on rebound, giving the pedal a quicker response. Many drummers that play heel-down prefer the feel of a direct drive. The FP-9500D has adjustments for beater angle, footboard angle, and spring tension. The pedal frame has a stabilizer bar cast into it below the rocker shaft to eliminate flex. This keeps the bearings in alignment and gives the pedal a smooth feel. The hole in the beater hub is tear drop shaped so it securely holds the beater shaft and keeps the new two-sided beater from spinning. The new beater is felt on one side, and hard plastic on the other. The side-adjustable hoop clamp holds firmly to different thickness hoops, and tightens with a wing bolt. One side is a normal felt type while the other is made of plastic that delivers a feeling close to wood. Beater Shaft RockerThe teardrop shaped shaft hole holds the shaft securely. The shaft's flat surface keeps the 2-way beater from swiveling while playing. Beater Angle AdjustmentLoosening the adjustment screw lets you freely adjust the beater angle along with the footboard angle. Spring Tension Adjustment with Self LockOne hand spring tension adjustment is easy. A lock bolt secures the setting to prevent loosening during play. Simple Hoop Clamp Mechanism A wing bolt firmly tightens the clamp for secure attachment. It also allows the clamp to accommodate different hoop thicknesses. Footboard Angle Adjustment The pedal angle can be set freely to any angle without affecting beater angle. This lets you set the pedal angle you want when the pedal is not pressed. A tuning key is used to make the adjustment, which also lets you align pedal height with your sub, and hi-hat pedals.
