Intuitive Operation at Your Fingertips The TASCAM Sonicview 16 features motorized channel faders in two banks of eight, and a motorized stereo fader for the main bus. Above each bank of channel faders is a colored touch panel that lets you see an entire mixer channel, or control each parameter at your fingertips for more detail. The Amazing VIEW Truly the new standard in mixer user interfaces, the powerful and intuitive TASCAM Visual Interactive Ergonomic Workflow (VIEW) system makes configuring TASCAM Sonicview 16's dual touchscreens quick and easy.Thanks to the VIEW user interface, you have three different ways to view settings and each touchscreen can be configured individually, so you can monitor and control any combination of parameters you want, anytime, on any screen. For example, you can use screen 1 to monitor the levels for 8 vocal channels, and use screen 2 to fine-tune the parametric EQ of your drum submix. Select Channel Strip View to see the status of eight adjacent channels at a glance, much like vertical channel strips on an analog mixer. Input Channels and Processing The TASCAM Sonicview 16 features 16 channels with XLR mic/line inputs, or 8 channels with XLR mic inputs and balanced TRS line inputs. There are also TRS insert points on two channels, two stereo pairs of RCA AUX inputs, and an XLR input to connect a talkback mic. Channel Control and Processing TASCAM Sonicview offers more than meets the eye. The HDIA Class 1 mic preamp has fantastic EIN, S/N ratio, distortion ratio, and frequency response thanks to an instrument amplifier with good incredible noise characteristics in the first stage. TASCAM Sonicview ultra-high definition mic preamps pick up the tiniest nuances, from the rosin of a violin bow to subtle dynamic changes in voices and brass instruments. The mic inputs can handle signals up to +32 dBu, providing sufficient headroom for sudden level spikes. The combination of Class 1 HDIA preamps, 32-bit/96kHz ADC and 54-bit FPGA mixing engine is impressive, but it doesn't stop there. Built-in USB Audio Interface and Stereo Recording The onboard 32-in/32-out USB audio interface featured in TASCAM Sonicview makes it a winning front end for recording live events as well as recording and broadcast. Record any channel's direct out, flex busses and the main L/R bus into your favorite DAW at up to 96kHz, with the same 32-bit precision used throughout TASCAM Sonicview. You can record the main mix directly to the onboard stereo SD/USB recorder. Useful if a band wants to listen back to a performance in a hotel or bus. Connect a USB flash drive to record in stereo via the top panel connector. Physical Outputs and Expansion Capability As you can imagine, the TASCAM Sonicview 16 offers a large number of physical outputs with 16 XLR line outputs, main L/R outputs and 2 XLR monitor outputs. If that doesn't cut it, connect optional expansion cards to add more analog outputs, MADI, Dante or AES/EBU I/O on top of the multitrack SD recording card IF-MTR32. To further expand the system, add one or more optional SB-16D Dante 16-in/16-out Network Stageboxes. Mic gain for all 16 inputs can be remotely controlled from the TASCAM Sonicview 16, and the SB-16D can be used rack mounted, or as a floor box. Output Buses and Processing A wealth of output buses are available with powerful signal processing and flexible routing options. In addition to the main L/R stereo bus, the TASCAM Sonicview 16 offers 22 output flex busses, each of which can be configured as a subgroup, aux, or matrix. Provide multiple stereo in-ear monitor submixes and send them to analog outputs without running out of busses. Create matrix mixes of multiple speaker zones and send to restaurants and worship services over the Dante network. All output buses feature 31-band graphic EQ, real-time spectrum analyzer, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor/ducker, delay, solo, pan and mute.
