Both our Myaree and Wangara stores are open 9–5:30pm Monday – Friday, with Myaree open 9–7pm Thursdays, both stores 9–5pm on Saturday and closed on Sundays.

When sE introduced the X1 in 2010, it redefined what was possible for an affordable, hand-built condenser microphone. With best-in-class dynamic range and SPL handling, as well as substantially increased flexibility, the X1 S is more affordable than the original, yet an improved in every sense. With a handcrafted metal chassis and gold-sputtered diaphragms, plus 80/160Hz low cut filters and -10/-20dB pads, the X1 S provides all the control needed at an affordable price. CUSTOM-DESIGNED, HAND-CRAFTED CAPSULE

Like its predecessor, the X1 S uses a hand-built condenser capsule carefully designed and tuned by engineers with decades of experience inside sE's capsule room. The result is a capsule built like the world's finest instruments, and a capsule worthy of capturing them.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE ELECTRONICS

Where the original X1 was powerful, the X1 S's reengineered electronics take its performance to the next level, allowing it to have the greatest dynamic range in it's class. The internal redesign provides increased sensitivity, dramatically improved SPL handling (up to 160dB!), and significantly reduced self-noise.

LOW-CUT FILTERS

-10dB and -20dB pad switches provide wide dynamic range, enabling a variety of applications and close mic techniques.

TWO SWITCHABLE ATTENUATION LEVELS

Two selectable low-cut filters at either 80Hz or 160Hz help remove low-end rumble and footsteps and compensate for bass buildup when using close mic techniques.
