The V KICK is the smallest and most versatile drum microphone in its class, for sources such as kick drums, bass guitar cabinets, floor toms and other large drums where low frequency energy is the center of focus. An in-built swivel joint allows for flexible mic placement, and a custom capsule provides a tonal character specifically tailored for kick drums. This can be shaped further with two switches on the back of the mic. From warm and classic to tight and modern, V KICK gives you whatever kick drum sound you require. From classic to modern: Four switchable sonic voicings. Two switches on the back of the V KICK offer four different sound profiles, ideal for tailoring the sound to suit any project. Also ideal for live shows with multiple bands and short changeovers. These switches are strategically placed on the back of the mic so they can accessed even if the V KICK is positioned inside the kick drum. With V KICK you have a single mic to cover any application. The left switch shapes the overall voice of the mic. Classic achieves a more traditional kick drum sound, providing a familiar low-end punch, and a thicker, rounder sound. For a more tight and aggressive sound, the Modern setting boosts the bass and treble to give a scooped sound. The right-hand switch specifically tailors the high-frequency character. 'Classic' offers a typical boost in the upper-mids, and a more rounded and classic sound, while 'Modern' offers a more open aggressive drum sound with more clarity and transient response- perfect for metal and hard rock. The most compact kick drum mic on the market. The V KICK's extremely low profile allows it to be easily positioned on the outside or inside of a kick drum, and the integrated swivel joint allows it to be placed effortlessly wherever you need it. The stand mount and XLR connector are located side by side on the underside of the mic so the mic cables stay flush with the mic stand- eliminating cable mess, and reducing the footprint. The heart of the V KICK: the DMC7 SB capsule The all-new custom DMC7 SB capsule provides the same technology and features as its acclaimed V7 and V7 X counterparts, including an innovative, specialized aluminum voice coil. While the V7 X is optimized to cover most other instruments, the V KICK's capsule is specifically tuned to deliver the deepest, loudest sounds. Aluminum is a much lighter material than the industry standard (copper), so it easily captures low-frequency energy and punch, delivering an open, transient-rich signal. The midrange is also incredibly balanced and supports the natural resonance of percussion instruments. The superior off-axis rejection of this elaborate capsule also helps isolate the kick drum from other sources on stage, effectively eliminating stage bleed and spillover from snares, toms, hi-hats, etc. The supercardioid polar pattern also allows you to easily adjust the low end by adjusting the proximity effect. Proven neodymium magnets, tight manufacturing tolerances, and quality craftsmanship ensure superior sensitivity, high-end sound quality, and superior consistency. Unique, patented integrated capsule suspension The V KICK's advanced internal capsule suspension effectively isolates the capsule from mechanical vibrations, decoupling it from impacts and eliminating the need for an external shock mount. All-metal housing & spring steel grille with gold XLR connector V KICK's rugged chassis is all metal and contains no fragile plastic parts. The high-quality, durable die-cast zinc alloy housing is designed to withstand years of rigorous stage performance. The spring steel grill is dent and corrosion resistant for complete reliability, and locking knob on the swivel mount keeps the V KICK locked firmly in any position. Internal windscreen The internal red windscreen effectively reduces unwanted pops, plosives and wind noise. If you prefer a more discrete black windscreen, one is also included as a standard accessory. Knurled nut for other mounting accessories Some popular drum mic mounting systems (such as the LP®Mic Claw) include a knurled nut to hold the mic in place. However, these third-party nuts may partially block the XLR connector due to V KICK's extremely space efficient design, so there is a knurled nut with a smaller outer diameter included to fix this issue.
