Meet the sE2300: The cardioid version of this mic was made famous by world-class vocal artists like Amy Winehouse. This multi-pattern version enhances its versatility, expanding the utility to capture any instrument, and revives the spirit of the world's most classic studios microphones. sE remains true to their original capsule design, custom-built transformer, and class-A circuit topology, so it's still the familiar favourite condenser microphone adored by an entire generation of engineers. A shorter optimised signal path and state-of-the-art components achieve even greater noise performance and clarity, while multiple patterns and new pad and filter options increase versatility- and the fit and finish have been updated with the latest manufacturing procedures from sE, while ensuring the sE2300 retains the classic sound of the original. HANDCRAFTED 1″ TRUE CONDENSER CAPSULE Built like the world's finest musical instruments, each capsule is hand built and individually tuned in our own factory in Shanghai. Unlike other microphones with backplate or electret designs, the sE2300 features a true externally polarized condenser capsule, providing the best possible sound and the greatest performance in every sense. THREE SELECTABLE POLAR PATTERNS A 3-position pattern switch located on the back of the mic allows you to change the sE2300's polar pattern from omni to cardioid to figure-8. This gives you great control over the balance between direct and ambient sound. TRADITIONAL CLASS-A ELECTRONIC DESIGN Carefully selected discrete components ensure excellent sound quality from any source. The design of the sE2300 still avoids the use of ICs (Integrated Circuits) and is designed for superior performance. Low noise, consistent performance, and high sensitivity are ensured by state-of-the-art surface-mount electronics with very tight tolerances. TWO SWITCHABLE ATTENUATION LEVELS & LOW-CUT FILTERS -10dB and -20dB pad switches provide extended dynamic range, enabling close mic techniques for a huge variety of applications and even the loudest signals. Two selectable low-cut filters at either 80Hz or 160Hz remove low-frequency rumble and foot noise, and compensates for proximity effect when a close-mic technique is required. CUSTOM-BUILT OUTPUT TRANSFORMER The sE2300's custom transformer recreates the spirit of classic studio mics, adding great depth and weight to the overall sonic footprint and its tightly shielded metal housing ensures noise-free operation. ALL-METAL HOUSING & PREMIUM FINISH Unlike the cheaply constructed housings of other budget-friendly mics, the sE2300's all-metal body efficiently rejects any electrical interference and hum- and the high-grade finish ensures a stunning appearance year after year. GOLD-PLATED XLR CONNECTOR Guarantees a lossless and reliable signal connection to stand the test of time. THE ISOLATION PACK For situations requiring better rumble control and protection against plosives, this package also includes sE's Isolation Pack. With the turn of a knob, the mount attaches quickly and safely to the microphone, and with the same easy motion it can be removed. This makes setting up the mic quick and easy. No adjustments or worries. The Isolation Pack also features sE's curved metal pop filter, which efficiently integrates with the shockmount and is adjustable vertically for stellar performance.
