The outcome of close collaboration between Grammy Award-winner John Mayer and PRS, Silver Sky is based off years of development. Fusing elements of Mayer and Smith's favorite guitars from 1963 and 1964, but with the future in mind, the PRS Silver Sky combines the warmth and familiarity of vintage guitars with the finesse of a brand new instrument. More distinctive specs include the headstock shape, machine heads, bridges, pickups, and neck and fretboard options. The headstock shape is based on PRS's trademark, but it maintains tuning by inverting it to accommodate Meyer's playing style and for consistent string length behind the nut. The machine heads are traditional vintage style closed-back, but feature PRS's locking design. The steel tremolo draws from the iconic PRS design, but uses Gen III knife-edge screws. Set up to be flush with the body in the neutral position, so the tremolo only goes down in pitch. By maximizing the contact between the bridge and the body, the guitar itself becomes acoustically louder, which massively improves the S/N ratio of the single-coil pickups. The 635JM single-coil pickups are well rounded and rich, with a sweet and musical high end that never gets too harsh or offensive. FEATURES
