The Custom 24 has two mini toggle switches for coil tuning, while the Custom 24-08 has eight different pickup settings, offering a wide range of humbucker and single-coil tones, including a dual single-coil option. If you're looking for tone with classic PRS playability, reliability, and ultimate versatility, check out the Custom 24-08. For 2024, PRS Guitars is updating the tuning machines of many of its core guitars. The new wing knobs, visually reminiscent of the bird's wing design at the 12th fret, were developed in 1982 primarily for tonal reasons: these buttons were lighter than the previous metal buttons, so less energy was transferred from the vibrating strings, making the guitar sound longer and more musical.
