The Pearl Hybrid Exotic Kapur/Fiberglass snare drums combine the warm characteristics of its 6-ply Kapur shell with the brilliant, controlled frequencies of a thing layer of hand-applied Fiberglass. The result is a rich, warm shell with present stick definition and pronounced crack and projection.

• 6-Ply, 7.5mm Kapur/Fiberglass Shell - The darker tonal attributes of the Kapur wood shell are complimented by a top-end spike from a hand-applied inner layer of Fiberglass.
• SuperHoop II Hoops - These optimum 2.3mm Triple-Flange hoops enable incredible tuning integrity and ultimate shell resonance during play.
• SpinTight Tension Rods - Innovative and efficient, this "tension-rod-within-a-tension-rod" allows the rod to expand and lock in place within the swivel nut. Using a special drum key, tunings can be controlled like never before, even under high-impact playing.
• Single STL Lugs - Pearl's most lightweight and efficient tuning lug features a floating swivel nut that reduces friction, contact, and weight on the hardware, while improving tuning and head tension.
• Glide-Lock Strainer - With a locking throw off lever and dedicated tension knob, the Pearl SR1000 Strainer maintains tension, no matter how hard you play - and the low-friction design allows for smooth gliding action for incredibly smooth and quiet motion.

Finally, for consistent tuning tension across the batter head, all Hybrid Exotic snare drums include Pearl’s new Spin-Tight Tension Rods. This charmingly simple design creates a tension rod-within-a-tension rod, that enables the rod to expand and lock into place within the swivel nut.
