Description
The Neumann TLM 193 is a reference class studio microphone for project studios and situations where selectable polar patterns aren't needed. With a switchless design, fixed cardioid pickup pattern and an astoundingly balanced frequency response, the TLM 193 is incredibly simple to use, just point it at the source and get recording. Features
  • Very easy to use, even for novices
  • Uncompromised Neumann quality for small studios
  • Large diaphragm capsule with cardioid pattern
  • Even frequency response on- and off-axis
  • Transformerless circuitry with high SPL capability
  • Extremely low self-noise

WHAT YOU HEAR IS WHAT YOU GET The TLM 193 is a studio condenser microphone with an incredibly balanced cardioid pattern, achieving a very linear response both on-axis and off-axis - making the TLM 193 a very accurate and streamlined microphone, capturing the source and the ambience of the room without unwanted coloration. The TLM 193 captures sound which is very close to what you hear with your own ears. PURE CARDIOID Technically, the TLM 193 is a stripped-back, cardioid-only version of the renowned reference microphone, the TLM 170 R. It employs the same K 89 large diaphragm capsule, which is a contemporary, edge-terminated design taking the advantages of both large and small diaphragm microphones, and giving you the best of both worlds. The TLM 193 combines the excellent linearity and fast transient response of a small diaphragm capsule with the smoothness and sensitivity that you can only find in large diaphragm microphones. As a member of the TLM series, the TLM 193 employs transformerless circuitry to minimize transmission losses and ensure a wide dynamic range of 130dB, making the TLM 193 capable of capturing very quiet and very loud sources without degrading the sound quality. In numbers: The self-noise of the microphone is only 10 dB-A, and is far below the noise floor, even in a very quiet recording studio. Furthermore, the TLM 193 is capable of handling extreme sound pressure levels of up to 140dB free of distortion and artifacts, without the need for a pad switch. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL The TLM 193 is an incredibly simple microphone to use for a range of applications, thanks to it's sonic performance and technical brilliance. Simply point it at the source to accurately capture every nuance and detail. Perfect for vocals and speech, especially for dubbing and voice-over work, capturing authentic voice character without coloration. Of course, the TLM 193 is also a fantastic choice for a wide variety of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, drums, percussion, piano and more. The TLM 193 was primarily designed with home, project and broadcast studios in mind, but is also an extremely useful and flexible companion for larger setups. The linear and colorless sound, both on and off-axis, makes the TLM 193 a fantastic spot microphone for orchestral recordings, like low strings, woodwinds and brass. Thanks to the smaller sized chassis and dark color, the TLM 193 is unobtrusive and can fly under the radar so you can focus on the task at hand. Specifications
