THE PERFECT INTRODUCTION TO THE NEUMANN SOUND Neumann's most affordable large diaphragm condenser microphone, the TLM 102 was designed and built in Germany with meticulous attention to detail. It has a reduced size, and more limited features in comparison to more expensive Neumann microphones, but the TLM 102 does not compromise on audio quality. Despite its affordable price, the TLM 102 has a stunning appearance with a sleek chrome ring between the iconic tapered grille and the famous Neumann diamond. SMART LOOKS – SMART ENGINEERING The TLM 102 sounds as smart as it looks. With a newly designed large diaphragm condenser capsule, it boasts all of the attributes that made Neumann microphones the most sought-after in the world: a clean and focused sound with outstanding definition. An extremely flat frequency response across the entire midrange allows the TLM 102 to capture the authentic tone of any voice or instrument, enhanced with a subtle boost around 10kHz for silky highs. The TLM 102 also has a beautiful low end, enhanced by the well-controlled proximity effect of a large diaphragm cardioid capsule. The technical performance of the TLM 102 is also impressive. Self-noise of just 12 dB-A is significantly lower than ambient noise, even in a very quiet room. At the same time, the TLM 102 can handle extreme sound pressure levels up to 144 dB without distortion. As a member of the TLM series, the TLM 102 employs a transformerless output stage. This means powerful bass even at the highest signal levels and a very focused sound with no signal degradation. BIG SOUND FOR SMALL STUDIOS With a massive dynamic range of 132 dB and an incredibly balanced cardioid polar pattern, the TLM 102 is a very simple microphone to use for demanding live applications, as well as home and project studios.
