Users will love the MT 48 for the unrivaled audio perfection it brings to their signal chains, because the truth is: No other audio interface can fully translate the quality of Neumann microphones – and rarely do they deliver the pristine audio our monitors and headphones expect. Even if you are working with the best input and output gear available, you could be losing potential in between. Not anymore! Future proofed I/O With four analog inputs (two ultra high quality Microphone preamp inputs and two fantastic sounding Hi-Z instrument inputs that can also cleanly take line level signals) and eight analog output channels (including two headphone outputs!), the MT 48 has everything you need for personal or small scale recording. It can be easily expanded via ADAT / S/PDIF and AES67/RAVENNA to accommodate larger setups, using, for instance, Neumann AES67 speakers and Merging Technology AES67 converters, allowing the MT 48 to remain the heart of your growing recording setup. MIDI I/O also allows for control and integration of 5 pin MIDI equipment. Unmatched input and output sound quality The MT 48 completes the ideal signal chain: Uncompromised sound quality from the sound source to your ear – without any bottlenecks. As an example. Neumann microphones offer a dynamic range of up to 131 dB(A). Yet audio interfaces, so far, offer only 123 dB(A). The MT 48 has four times the resolution: 136 dB(A)! It also delivers more gain than its competitors: Up to 78 dB. So, you not only get the best out of Neumann condensers, but any microphone, even low output ribbons. The same goes for the output side: The MT 48 comes with powerful, ultra-low impedance headphone outputs. Offering better performance than competing devices – and even many external headphone amps. So, you’ll always get the best out of any headphone, including, of course, Neumann’s NDH line. User friendly tactile operation It is not only premium sound quality that users need: with musicians becoming their own engineers, ease of use is a crucial factor. While most audio interfaces require a controller application on the computer, the MT 48 features a high-resolution touchscreen with an intuitive user interface. No more switching between hardware and software – all settings are made on the device itself. The MT 48 can also be remote controlled over IP using the MT 48 Toolkit app - including tablet and desktop control. Dial in cue mixes faster than ever before The MT 48 is also a fully featured digital mixing console. Equipped with a powerful DSP, the MT 48 features sophisticated 4 band EQ and 3-way dynamics processor (gate/compressor/limiter) in every channel, plus reverb for inspiring monitor mixes. Each of the 4 stereo output pairs can be easily given separate mixes from the front panel buttons, large and precise rotary knob, and touchscreen. The integrated talkback mic allows for easy communication with performers. As an additional unique feature, the MT 48 offers Pre-FX and Post-FX recording – at the same time! We call this Dual Output Technology.
