What could Neumann add to the perfect, globally 5-star rated monitor? After 12 years of research, they introduced the improved and elaborate KH 120 II. "It's part of the Neumann philosophy to never be satisfied with what has been developed so far," says Stephan Mauer, Neumann portfolio manager. A big improvement is Neumann's DSP-controlled electronics that allow phase-linear crossovers and Automatic Monitor Alignment via the groundbreaking MA 1. All acoustic parameters have also been improved. The new version has even less distortion, lower bass and higher max SPL and even higher resolution. The redesigned cabinet is made from MDF, a stronger and more sustainable material than the aluminum previously used. The woofer has been completely redesigned. The Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD™) waveguide is incorporated into the new cabinet design. Plus, a number of additional improvements, not to mention patent-pending amplifier technology that delivers superior audio performance with Class D power efficiency. The new series also includes AES67 options and is available in anthracite and white finishes. The KH 120 II is a powerful update to a design that has seen strong growth in recent years. Nearfield monitoring is essential not only for broadcast, OB vans, project or recording studios, but also for streaming events and live recordings, where engineers need to make the most of an ever-changing work environment. The KH 120 II is a worthy successor to the highly-regarded KH 120 A. Combined with the potential of the MA 1, the new KH 120 II is ready to uphold the standard of perfection for generations to come.
