The MXR Thump Bass Preamp is a tonally sweet, signal boosting and overall groove defining machine. This pedal was conceived when MXR's design team and in-house bassists discovered that the Echoplex® Preamp's sonic secret ingredients pair as well with basses as it does guitars. Using the Echoplex® circuit as a starting point, the MXR team added a simple yet powerful tone shaping circuit that allows you to dial in the perfect bass tone for your stage or studio. Easily create any sound you want. The Echoplex preamp circuitry prepares the signal with a carefully tuned EQ profile, and the tone controls on this pedal let you take it from there. The Treble and Bass controls cut or boost frequencies at 4kHz and 40Hz respectively. The Mid control cuts or boosts mid frequencies from 250Hz to 1kHz, depending on the setting of the Frequency control. These frequency ranges were chosen to give the player maximum flexibility and minimal fuss when dialing their bass sounds.
