Two identical channels feature the same three new dynamic and duplicated modes as the 100-watt model. In the Badlander 50, a 2-channel preamp is connected with two different perfect power displacements to enhance everything from clean to clipped to intensely saturated sounds. The 50 watt setting provides strong authority and maximum headroom, while the 20 watt setting locates the power tubes re-wired for Triode operation, increasing the clipping potential, with mid-scooped harmonies that and bring the signature EL34 tone to life. Physical factors definitely come into play, as the weight is significantly lower. Some folks believe that low wattage amplifiers have unique advantages.
