Consisting of three distinct surfaces, each with a different feel and volume level, the all-new Split Tone Pad was born out of collaboration between Meinl and renowned YouTube drumming sensation, Anika Nilles. With the included reduced rebound section on the back, this pad is designed to train more than simple rudiments. Features Primary pad (middle): Regular tone Secondary pad (red dots): Higher tone Soft oval shape and backside: Muted tone Durable surface - realistic feel 12 The middle section of the pad acts as the primary pad, delivering a regular tone and feel - perfect for rehearsing normal hand exercises. The two red dots serve as the secondary pads, offering a higher tone compared to the primary pad. Playing these pads with alternating hands with the opposite hand playing the primary pad allows you to play two distinct sounds - helping you recognize rhythms from a new perspective. The soft oval shape towards the top of the pad acts as a muted section. By performing patterns on the primary pad, while moving one hand to this section, you get to hear one hand very strong and clearly, while the hand playing the muted section remains silent - putting focus on one hand at a time to develop playing consistency between hands, and smooth out any weaknesses. Finally, the workout pad on the rear features a special surface with reduced rebound, allowing you to warm up your muscles and improve playing power. The rear pad also functions as a non-slip layer for playing the pad on flat surfaces.
