A 1977 EG500T manufactured during the transitional period leading up to Greco's golden age. Based on the serial number "I776852," this instrument is confirmed to be a 1977 model.
Catalogues from that era confirm that white sycamore bodies were in use at the time, and this guitar impresses with its lively response and clear, open sound. While possessing the characteristic richness of a Les Paul-style guitar, it offers a pleasant, well-defined midrange and tight low end, delivering the practical, well-balanced tone typical of Japanese vintage instruments.
The pickups feature a "27912" stamp on the back and are believed to be original Maxon-style humbuckers with braided wire shielding. Currently in an open-back, double-black finish, its rugged, late-70s look is also a major draw.
The tuners have been replaced with Grover-type tuners, similar to those found on the EG700 series.
