Description

The Gibson 1957 Mahogany Futura Reissue Electric Guitar revives one of Gibson’s rarest and most futuristic prototypes from the 1950s. While the earliest Flying V and Explorer models introduced in 1958 used Korina wood, the original Futura prototypes were crafted from mahogany, offering a warmer, denser tone ideal for rock and metal. Mahogany is also more readily available than the scarce Korina, making this reissue the perfect way for modern players to experience the bold, space-age design and rich, all-mahogany sound of these legendary 1957 prototypes.

Faithfully recreated by Gibson Custom, the 1957 Mahogany Futura Reissue combines historic style with versatile performance for players seeking vintage authenticity and modern playability.
