The new Futura Series guitars from Epiphone are designed for today’s guitarists who want a guitar that delivers professional performance and forward?thinking features. These Inspired by Gibson models offer the tone and style modern musicians need for live shows, studio sessions, and content creation. Featuring striking, colour-shifting finishes, newly designed pickups, and versatile electronics like coil-splitting and phase switching, Futura guitars give players the tools to stand out both visually and sonically. Premium details such as stainless steel frets, compound-radius fingerboards, and ultra-comfortable neck profiles make these instruments a forward-thinking choice for any serious guitarist.

The Gibson RD has long been a cult favourite, and Epiphone is proud to bring this classic back with the Futura RD Custom—a striking, modern interpretation of a design that was ahead of its time when Gibson introduced it in 1977. Blending elements of the Explorer™ and Firebird™, the RD’s distinctive silhouette is unmistakable. Its sculpted mahogany body features elegant 7-ply top binding and a contoured back for comfort.

A LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece ensure rock-solid intonation and sustain, while Posi-Lok™ strap buttons keep your strap secure without extra hardware. The 25.5” scale mahogany neck sports a fast-playing Modern C profile and a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets and eye-catching Super 400-style pearloid split block inlays. A 10”-14” compound radius makes chording and bends effortless, and the extended scale length is ideal for drop tunings. The 5-ply bound Kalamazoo headstock is fitted with locking Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and mother-of-pearl Epiphone and Custom split diamond inlays.

Driving the Futura RD Custom are a pair of Epiphone’s new ProBucker™ Ignite humbuckers™, delivering powerful, articulate tone with plenty of clarity. Push/pull volume and tone controls unlock coil-splitting and phase options for maximum versatility. Available in three stunning Chromashift finishes—Midnight Ember Shift, Twilight Shift, and Firestorm Shift—this guitar is designed to turn heads on stage or on screen.
