The connection between the original Freeze and Superego pedals is the Pico Deep Freeze Sound Retainer. With the ability to freeze a moment of sound, Deep Freeze acts as a sustain pedal to hold chords and notes as a backdrop to your performances, or serve as a platform to manipulate tones to create new sounds not possible with regular guitars. In addition to the features of the original Freeze, Deep Freeze punches above its weight with layering, adjustable attack/decay speed, glissando, dedicated volume control, and three modes: Latch, Moment, and Auto. Making it a power pedal that punches well above it's weight. Deep Freeze allows you to instantly freeze sounds with three operating modes. Latch freezes the tone each time you press the footswitch until the effect is bypassed, while Momentary mode freezes the tone only while the footswitch is held down. In automatic mode, the device almost freezes as sound is automatically captured whenever a signal above the threshold is detected. These three modes make it easy to operate Deep Freeze to suit any play style. Deep Freeze controls let you further customize the effect's behavior. Separate DRY and EFFECT volume controls let you mix signals from subtle background music to 100% effects experiments. GLISS adjusts the morph time between frozen sounds to create alien soundscapes. The SPEED/LAYER control adjusts the effect's attack/decay time in Momentary and Auto modes, or the degree of overlay in Latch mode, allowing you to play impossible chords.
