Description

Powered by sophisticated MDP technology, the all-new BOSS NS-1X intelligently eliminates noise, while maintaining the natural tone and feel of your guitar or bass. Reduction mode keeps your rig noise-free in any standard playing setup, while Gate mode offers ultra-fast performance for tight, precise high-gain riffing that stays sharp and defined. Highly flexible, and simple to use, the  NS-1X is the ultimate tool for eliminating noise during rehearsal, live performance, or studio recording. Features Next-generation noise suppressor and gate for guitar, bass, and other electronic musical instruments Intelligent BOSS MDP technology eliminates noise with no impact on playing feel or response Intuitive operation with Threshold, Decay, and Damp knobs Reduction mode for general noise suppression applications Gate mode provides ultra-fast noise elimination for tapping, sweep picking, and heavy rhythm styles that rely on high-gain tones Mute mode for silencing the instrument signal when the pedal switch is engaged (the pedal operates in user-selectable Reduction or Gate mode when the switch is off) Reduction indicator that dynamically displays the current noise suppression status Send/return loop for optimized noise elimination with overdrives, distortions, and other noise-producing pedals DC Out for distributing power to other pedals (requires optional PSA adaptor and PCS-20A parallel cable) BOSS five-year warranty Cutting-Edge Noise Suppression Background noise can destroy the guitar or bass tone that you worked so hard for, especially when high-gain setups are involved. Using exclusive MDP technology, the NS-1X provides quick, transparent performance in any application, without the unnatural attack and decay artifacts that sometimes occur with traditional noise suppression systems. High-speed digital technology analyzes the input signal in real time, on multiple levels, resulting in superbly detailed processing that delivers the perfect amount of noise reduction for any playing style or venue. Maximum Versatility With multiple operation modes, the NS-1X allows you to refine the noise suppression to suit the needs of your rig: Reduction - This mode offers light noise suppression that is suitable for most instruments and playing styles, delivering natural and noise-free note decay for all types of pickups - even low-output single-coils. Gate - Perfect for lovers of high-gain, this mode instantly silences the output when no signal is present. Thanks to MDP, this pedal boasts a response faster than any other noise reduction pedal on the market can offer - resulting in a natural playing feel, and punchy attack for tight and percussive djent riffs, sweep picking, and legato tapping passages. Mute - In Mute mode, the pedal's bypass setting is turned into a mute switch - a convenient tool for changing instruments, tuning, and set breaks. When the pedal is switched off, the NS-1X operates in either Reduction or Gate mode - assignable via a simple procedure on power-up. Quick and Easy Operation The NS-1X features an innovative control layout and a multi-LED indicator, allowing you to dial in the perfect noise suppression parameters in seconds: Threshold - Sets the level at which noise suppression begins. In Reduction mode, start with the control all the way down, and turn it clockwise until the noise is eliminated. In Gate mode, start at the highest setting, and gradually wind it back until you find the attack response that feels right to you. Decay - Determines when the selected mode reaches maximum noise suppression. Start at the lowest setting, and then turn up until you achieve a natural decay. Damp - Sets the maximum level of noise reduction. More extreme settings make the noise reduction effect more apparent. Lower settings have a less apparent effect, resulting in a more natural noise reduction which may be favorable for some styles of playing. Reduction Indicator - Provides visual feedback on the current noise suppression status. Precise Detection NS-1X's advanced circuitry reads the input signal and applies noise reduction at the output stage. You'll find the best results when you connect your instrument directly to the input jack - before any other pedals. Inserting your distortion, overdrive, or other noisy pedals into the NS-1X's send/return loop allows the intelligent circuitry to continually analyze the clean input, while attenuating the noise from the pedals within the loop - resulting in the smoothest and most natural performance as you switch them in and out of the signal chain. Premium Noise Elimination for Guitar, Bass, and Other Instruments With advanced digital processing and a broad frequency response, the NX-1X delivers incredible performance for standard guitars and basses, as well as extended-range instruments with additional strings. It's also a great noise suppression device for cleaning up keyboards or other electronic instruments. MDP: Advanced Tech, Superior Tone Built upon decades of research and development, BOSS's exclusive Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology delivers a new approach to producing exceptional sounds. MDP analyzes the multitude of elements that make up a sound in real time, from the frequency, harmonic content, dynamics, pickup response, and more. Various playing characteristics are also analyzed, like note register, single notes vs. chords, bends, vibrato, and more. Each element is then processed in unique ways to deliver optimized tones as you play. Boasting an ultra-detailed, high-tech approach, MDP offers sonic quality and performance that far exceeds the limits of traditional effects processing.
