Description

First introduced back in 1991, the legendary BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone remains a staple of high-gain distortion pedals for players all across the globe, with over a million units sold, and counting! With a thick, saturated tone that's perfectly suited to metal genres, this stompbox is also fantastic for playing chunky rhythms and ripping solos in other genres too. Boasting an incredibly wide range of potential tone shaping, and super-smooth sustain, the MT-2 is truly the king of high-gain distortion stomps, bringing a plethora of rich distortion tones to any musical scenario. Features Iconic high-gain distortion pedal Innovative dual-stage gain circuit produces thick and tight distortion sounds with smooth, singing sustain Three-band active EQ with semi-parametric midrange provides intense sound customization with up to 15 dB boost/cut on each band Easy to achieve massive, satisfying sounds at any volume level Step into the Metal Zone BOSS's second most popular drive pedal ever, the MT-2 falls just behind their DS-1 Distortion. A crucial component of it's lasting success is the ability to deliver dense, heavy crunch and soaring sustain at all volumes, achieving an inspiring playing experience that is instantly gratifying for players of any skill level. The MT-2 is the perfect companion for use with any kind of guitar or amplifier, including clean pedal platform amps, thanks to it's smooth tonality and active EQ with semi-parametric midrange. Innovative Dual-Stage Gain Circuit Beneath the sleek exterior of the MT-2 lies an innovative analog circuit design to accomplish it's rich, heavy tone. With two gain stages configures in series, the first stage provides mid-centric clarity and articulation that feeds into the second stage for a more aggressive response. Boasting a total of seven stages of meticulously tuned pre and post distortion filtering, the MT-2's tone remains tight and well-defined at every setting, with no mud whatsoever. Shapeshifter With tone shaping capabilities that far outweigh that of most analog drive pedals, the MT-2's advanced tone shaping allows you to dial everything from chugging rhythms with a heavy mid-scoop, to brash, blistering tones that cut through the densest mix. With +15dB cut or boost available via the post-distortion Low, Middle, and High EQ controls, you can refine your tone perfectly to match whatever guitar or amplifier you're playing through, or create wild and unique new sounds. The heart of every guitar's voice lies in the midrange, and the MT-2 gives you a variable control to dial the frequency in this essential band anywhere from 200Hz to 5kHz.
