Measurement Microphone When combined with a spectrum analyser, you can not only measure frequency characteristics but also monitor the sound pressure level of speakers. The MM 1 also provides a valuable service when measuring audio signals for research, development, and industry. Accuracy The MM 1 delivers high measurement accuracy both live and in the studio. We manufacture these microphones to extremely narrow tolerance of +/- 1.5 dB deviation between 50 Hz and 16 kHz. This is possible because the experts at Beyerdynamic manually check the frequency response of each individual microphone. It's what on the Inside that Counts A high quality back electret condenser capsule acts as a pressure receiver for the MM 1. The microphone is calibrated in a diffuse sound field and has a linear frequency response at 90°. This makes it easy to measure a studio space, for example, without requiring extensive preparation. An Unconventional Alternative MM 1 is by no means a one-trick pony. As an unconventional alternative to instrumental recording, it gives great results and is perfect for spontaneously recording song ideas. Form Follows Function The MM 1 geometry has been developed to provide accurate measurement results. Thanks to the narrow and sturdy metal housing in which the microphone capsule is embedded, its construction has little effect on the sound field. This means that the increase in high frequency sound pressure can be largely avoided. The lightweight and compact microphone is easy to install. This classic microphone can now be safely stored in a sturdy hard case.
