A Passion for Keyboards Uli Behringer, founder of Behringer, has a deep and profound passion for keyboards. Uli was born in the small Swiss town of Baden, and was brought up in a musical family, where his mother taught him to play the piano at age four. His father was a scientist, and built a huge organ in their family home, and taught Uli all about electronics. By age 17, Uli Behringer built his first synthesizer, the UB-1. Later, while attending college to pursue a degree in audio engineering, Uli used his electronics knowledge to build his own equalizers and signal processors compensate for his university's lack of proper studio equipment. As word got out about how great his products were, he started to build gear for his friends, while simultaneously building the coveted Behringer legacy that stands to this day, and the rest is history...
