The foundation of the Austrian Audio CC8 is the newly-developed OCC7 small diaphragm condenser capsule. Drawing influence from the legendary CK1, the OCC7 provides all the advantages of that classic design, but with refinements to suit the demands of today. Inspired by the past, built for the future. The CC8 has an astonishingly balanced frequency response thanks to the OCC7 capsule and transformerless output. This means the CC8 is capable of handling extreme SPLs of up to 156dB without distortion. Even at extreme volumes, the CC8 sounds natural and open with a silky smooth mid and high range without ever becoming harsh, hyped or abrasive. This makes the CC8 the perfect microphone for capturing every nuance and detail of a range of instruments, like strings, woodwinds, brass, and orchestral percussion, as well as acoustic guitars, pianos, snare drums, hi-hats and cymbals, or drum overheads. Before leaving the factory, each microphone is measured to a tolerance of max. +/- 0.5 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz. This means that any CC8 can be match-paired with any other, regardless of production dates.
