Aston has unleashed the Spirit 5th Anniversary Collector’s Edition to celebrate their flagship LDC's birthday, a limited-run version of the modern classic. The mic features a stunning ‘full-sleeve’ engraved chassis whose design references the uniquely British heritage of the brand, the only mainstream mic company still manufacturing in the UK. The Spirit features a 1” gold evaporated diaphragm, Aston’s unmistakable waveform spring head, transformer, cardioid, omni, and figure-of-eight polar patterns, direct-to-stand mounting, and near-indestructible build quality. The Aston Spirit has become a fixture in many of the world’s top recording facilities, attracting many favorable comparisons with far costlier microphones. Dave Pemberton (Kasabian, The Prodigy, Orbital, Groove Armada) tells the story of a seamless switch from old to new: “The vintage U47 started to pop and fizzle so I switched to a Spirit.
