2. Repairable: Even with incredible consideration and care, things can still happen to any instrument, so it needs to be repairable. When buying quality you can be confident there are spare and replacement parts available and someone local who's worked on similar and will be able to get you sorted!
3. Investment: Cheap doesn't necessarily equal good value. A good quality instrument won't just last the term or the year, but a life time with the right care. That also means that if your new musician decides to retire down the road, you can sell on the instrument and know with confidence it will hold value well.
