Oozing with rich even-order harmonics, the unique asymmetrical clipping circuit offered a faithful replication of the gratifying sound and feel of a driven tube amp - but at safe listening levels. Four years later, this iconic design evolved into the more flexible SD-1, which offered an active tone control for fine tuning the treble response, as well as subtle circuit tweaks to deliver more low-end body.

Features

Genre-defining BOSS overdrive sound

Unique asymmetrical clipping circuit produces tube-like overdrive characteristics

Mild-to-moderate drive tones with focused midrange and tight low end

Ideal for use with clean and slightly driven amps

Also works great for bringing tightness and definition to high-gain amp tones

Stacks well with boost, overdrive, and distortion pedals

Overdrive Perfection

From beginners, to seasoned pros - the SD-1 gives you instant access to inspiring sounds thanks to it's natural behaviour and a slight mid push inherent to the circuit design. SD-1 pushes the tone of your guitar in the most important places, so you cut through the mix with unparalleled warmth, clarity, and lush presence. Lower drive settings are perfect for rhythm parts, while pushing the drive up lets you pull off thick, musical lead lines. Highly sensitive to input gain, SD-1 gives you access to a range of different overdrive flavours with a simple tweak of your guitar's volume knob.

The One Pedal Every Player Needs

The SD-1 gives you access to the perfect drive tones for any style of music thanks to it's organic character and responsive drive and tone controls. SD-1 is also perfect for driving high-gain amps and other drive pedals, offering a focused midrange, tight low-end, and a beautifully smooth high-end for heavier tones and solo sections.

Specifications

Nominal Input Level: -20dBu

Input Impedance: 1MΩ

Nominal Output Level: -20dBu

Output Impedance: 1kΩ

Recommended Load Impedance: 10kΩ or Greater

Bypass: Buffered Bypass

Controls

DRIVE Knob

TONE Knob

LEVEL Knob

Pedal switch

Connectors

INPUT Jack: ¼" Phone Type

OUTPUT jack: ¼" Phone Type

DC IN jack

Power Supply

Carbon-Zinc Battery (9V, 6F22) or Alkaline Battery (9V, 6LR61)

AC Adaptor (not included)

Expected Battery Life Under Continuous Use:

Carbon: Approx. 60 Hours

Alkaline: Approx. 90 Hours

*These figures will vary depending on the actual conditions of use.

Current Draw: 10mA

Accessories

Leaflet ("USING THE UNIT SAFELY," "IMPORTANT NOTES," and "Information")

Carbon-Zinc Battery (9V, 6F22)

Dimensions

73mm (W) x 129mm (D) x 59mm (H)

360g

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0953/3793/9232/files/SD1_c5b735b0-d83e-4ab7-ba5a-b7ee5a59eee4.jpg?v=1762318255
