The warm, familiar tone of the S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut is further enhanced by its construction specifications and design. With a bound 22-fret pattern vintage neck and a slightly thicker back for extra sustain, the S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut feels and sounds like the guitar you always play. It plays in tune, stays in tune, and stays in tune all the way across the neck. A two-piece zinc bridge and vintage-style tuning pegs keep this guitar anchored, true to the McCarty family promise. The S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut was designed to capture the heart of the McCarty family of instruments and stay true to the spirit of the S2 Series - It evokes the essence of vintage. After a decade, the PRS S2 Series has been updated for 2024 (and beyond) with American-made pickups and electronics. We are proud to bring this added value to what is now a fully integrated part of our production line and product offering. The vintage-style tuners have also been updated with new "Wing" button. These new buttons are aesthetically designed to reflect the 12-fret bird wingspan design, but primarily designed for tonal reasons. These buttons are lighter than the previous metal buttons, which means less energy is transferred from the vibrating strings, helping the guitar sound longer and more musical. The removal of the tuner’s locking feature on non-tremolo-equipped guitars further decreases their weight.
